Day Late

I'd been feeling a little non productive for the year, after seeing all these knitting roundups and resolution check-ups being posted. Then I went through my archives and did a tally, and I'm actually pretty impressed with what I completed in 2007:

1 pair of mittens
4 hats
1 baby sweater
4 pairs of socks
2 adult sweaters
1 shawl

and (best I can count) at least 2355 yards of new yarn created.

I think I was feeling a little slow due to the fact that my 2 big complex projects that I started in `07 are still on the needles - Celtic Dreams and Morning Glory. I'm not big on resolutions, but I really want to commit to finishing both of these before they hit the 1-year-on-the-needles mark. That means I hereby resolve to do my best to complete Celtic Dreams by March and Morning Glory by April. I think I can do it, if I stop distracting myself with lots of little instant gratification projects.

Just to avoid being picture-less, and because I'm a little wintered out already (that does not bode well!) A sunshiney photo for the day:

That's a good number of knits in 2007! As for Celtic Dreams and Morning Glory, you can do it!!

I think you've done a lot considering you work and have a husband and two kids. Don't forget when you look at a list like mine that my youngest child is 15 and would rather do anything than spend time with ME.
Good luck with Celtic Dreams and Morning Glory and thanks for the summertime photo. I needed that today!

I resolve to finish Celtic Dreams so it isn't on the needles for a 4th year! I started it Feb of 2005. Oy!

I don't think it's about how much you knit and spin, but just that you do it and have fun with it. Happy 2008!

Since I still have yet to complete an adult sweater, I bow before you. It was great to see you yesterday!

I feel a little discouraged about my output this year too. I had so many things that I wanted to start immediately (like that scarf that we saw up at Tess's) and that I haven't even wound the yarn for. Maybe this year I'll spend a little less time yarn shopping and a little more time actually knitting.

Umm, did you forget that you also mothered a brand new baby girl and an active preschooler??? And worked? I think that you were quite productive. [Pardon me while I zip off to Ravelry to queue Celtic Dreams...]

It just got so cold, that it is easy to be wintered out. I think you completed plenty of things. My list only gets that long at all because there are tons of items I had sitting around for a year or more.
